Promoting the Bicycle for Everyday Use

Adult Bicyclist Education

Go straight to course schedule->
Do you want the confidence to ride your bike in traffic?
Would you like to combine biking with riding on a train or a bus?
Are you interested in learning to change a tire or other basics of bicycle maintenance?

If you said ‘yes’ to any of these questions, then you should enroll in a BikeEd course offered by the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition. Knowledgeable, certified instructors are available throughout the South Bay Area to teach you to be a safe and proficient cyclist. Whether you are a long-time commuter, an avid club rider, or haven’t ridden in years, these fun, fact-filled courses are sure to increase your knowledge, skill and confidence.

On our roadways, bikes are treated as vehicles. Simply knowing how to ride a bike is not the same as knowing how to operate a bike safely and legally. The Bike Ed program is a set of curricula for adults and children and the certified instructors who teach it. Whether you are new to cycling or have been pedaling for ages, you will learn new skills and gain insights into how to be safe on the road. Classes are taught utilizing the cyclist education program of the League of American Bicyclists, using only instructors certified as League Certified Instructors (LCIs).

The Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition teaches classes offered through various cities and is also available to schedule classes at businesses for the benefit of employees. Classes can be taught as a series of lunchtime classes to fit conveniently into the workday. Contact us to learn more about bringing BikeEd to your workplace.
