Santa Clara Station Area Plan Open House

The Draft Station Area Plan has been completed, and represents almost two years of community involvement and careful planning. Strategies for the Plan are based upon extensive community visioning and input gathered throughout the planning process, and include an emphasis on walkability, mixed, vibrant land uses, and enhanced transit access for Santa Clara. Reports summarizing technical work, three previous community workshops (on visioning, alternatives, and the Preferred Plan), and stakeholder meetings are available on the project website at http://www.santaclarasap.com.

Uvas Road Closure for Bridge Replacement

The County of Santa Clara, Roads and Airports Department is working on a project to replace a bridge on Uvas Road, located 0.6 miles west of Watsonville Road, about 5 miles southwest of Morgan Hill. The bridge is too narrow and does not meet the current standards. Half of the new bridge is constructed and we plan to shift the vehicular traffic on to this new structure. Traffic signals will be installed to control the single direction at a time vehicular traffic movement. A temporary bicyclist/pedestrian bridge has been constructed to allow for safety crossing of the creek.
