Attendees introduced themselves. 2. Last meeting's minutes were approved. (Agenda items in order of presentation:) 3. Bike to Work Day, Dan Zurfluh, Alliance: He brought posters, post cards and Team Challenge flyers for handouts. The Challenge is teams of 4-5 riders competing for the most days riding to work. There will be BTWD banners in several towns. The afternoon Energizer station is new this year. The bike safety booklet will be in the bags again. The Spanish edition is coming, but not in time. The bag pickup will be the 11th and 12th, 12-5. (Added later: 45 bags per station.) PBPC promotional items for BTWD: Membership application flyers, Biped News, mission statement, N-S route map, Spinning Crank, Share the Road folder (green). Reports 5. Speaker meeting, May 30th, Steve V.: Gladwyn D'S. will moderate. Guests are Dawn Hassell, an SF lawyer who specializes in bike cases and Jim Hughes, a retired SFPD officer, who investigated traffic collisions for years. Assignments: Tony P. will videotape the talk; Mike H. will do check-in; Bob P. and Tony will do setup and cleanup; Billy James will do promotion. 8. Redwood City 4th of July parade, Dianne B.: The leading float idea is a bicycle-drawn carriage. A planning meeting should be held in late May. Construction can be at Steve V.'s house again. 7. Woodside Rd./ I-280: Bob P. brought pictures of cars driving in the bike lane; the problem is still not fixed. Additional fixes required: Move the on-ramp sign closer; restripe the service road entrance with a solid line; add bike lane markers. John Langbein will continue to be the Caltrans contact. 10. San Mateo, 19th Av./ US-101 overcrossing, Steve V.: The fence and bike lane striping project funded last year has not begun. Letters to Public Works Director Gary Heap were requested. Steve will write a model letter for modification by others. 9. San Mateo project on Delaware near 25th, Mike H.: The money to widen sidewalks and stripe lanes has been approved from federal CMAQ funds by the C/CAG BPAC. 4. Review of city BPACs, Pat G.: Pat is surveying the committees in the county. A BPAC makes cities eligible for California TDA Art.3 funds. Added: Bike parking for San Carlos Homecoming Days, Tony P.: Adult supervision of high school workers is needed, May 20th and 21st. 13. Elections, Steve V.: When are elections due? The Bylaws must be consulted, but it is about time. 14. Summer Event, Steve V.: Discussion produced approval of an overnight campout on Angel Island and a visit to the County Historical Museum. The meeting was adjourned at a reasonable hour.
