Attendees introduced themselves. Al Meckler is interested in the status of the BART bike trail. 2. Last meeting's minutes were approved. 3. Reports: C/CAG BPAC ranking of CMAQ projects, Mike Harding: Comments on the selection of cities looking to share $2.5M of federal money. Redwood City BPAC, Billy James: Gary Bonde of RC is asking by e-mail for applicants for a BPAC. Mike Nelson's questions about the independence of such a committee were asked. Malcom Smith is the PR man for RC. Seven citizen members and staff is proposed. They need help with organizing the committee. Gladwyn d'Souza: RC is starting market rate parking, a good sign. There is MTC bike funding money available, for which RC has a good chance. Burlingame, Pat Giorni: Burlingame is also competing for the MTC money. Signage, Steve Vanderlip: He displayed a good example of a bike crossing sign, unfortunately not Caltrans standard colors. 4. Woodside Rd / I-280, John Langbein, JerriAnn Meyer, Bob Page: The driveway striping and Botts dots are now OK. The freeway sign MAY be moved closer to the on-ramp. An added green sign is under the control of the "sign czarina". John will try writing a letter with Bob urging two signs. Caltrans needs to be reminded of tree trimming and added yellow signs, already agreed on, as have sharrows in the merging zone. There is a hearing for the driver on March 6th. Is the report available? Gladwyn and Pat to write a letter asking for a charge of vehicular manslaughter. 5. Redwood City July 4th Parade, Dianne Brien: She will need help in organizing this. A float brainstorming meeting is set for March 12th, 10 AM in Stafford Park, RC. Do we want to offer bike parking in RC? She will call the organizing committee. San Carlos could lend bike racks. Shifts covering 9-5 would be needed. Dianne will put an item in the Spinning Crank, with an March 8th deadline. 6. Bike to Work Day: Do we want to join with the Velo Girls for an after-party Thursday evening? One possibility is a Burlingame bike store. Another suggestion is approaching the Bay Meadows Land Co. for sponsorship. 7. San Carlos-RC N-S route, Didrik Hoag: The route has been ridden and written up. The next step is to meet to identity specific tasks, with date and time TBA. Billy James added that incorporation of the Bridge to Nowhere is a near dead issue, due to litigation. 8. The 2006 PBPC agenda was reviewed. 9. Ralston / 101 interchange improvement, Gladwyn: We should ask for bike lanes, and settle for sharrows. Items 10.,11. passed over. 12. Green Party meeting, Margaret Pye: The Mar. 8th meeting will have someone from the Sierra Club and Bay Meadows for view sharing, not debate.
